About Youth Ministry

At NRCC we believe the time for impacting the lives of youth is now.  We strongly believe they can experience God today.  It's His desire, it's ours.  So we tell them they don't have to wait until they are "grown-up" to encounter Him and His work in them;  now is the time.

The central issue of our youth ministry is personal encounter with the God who is alive in and among us. We pray, teach, and lead toward this, and we rely upon God to actualize it among us.

Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.
Psalm 105:4

We work to create a safe enviroment where youth feel free to be real and loved.  Rather than emphasizing fitting in, we view individuality as a reflection of God's glory.

We desire for those who know the Lord to grow in Him.  For those who don't know Him, we trust God to reveal himself in His timing and His perfect way.

We desire to be set apart.  After much discussion, prayer and reflection, the youth chose to name their group, Redefined.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test what God's will is - His good, pleasing will.
Romans 12:2

We desire to have fun....Christians can be fun!

   Youth Reflections Minimize

I feel very comfortable in this youth group, like I can completely be myself. I don't worry about what everyone will think of me because I know they love and accept me for who I am. Plus, I love my youth leaders, I can talk to them about everything I'm struggling with and they support me no matter what.

I think I have started to truly know what it means to be in love with God. He has become very real to me instead of this "God" that I could never have a personal relationship with. I feel like this has opened my eyes to see who God really is. I love knowing that this is just the beginning of my walk with Him.  --Victoria

The NRCC Youth Ministry has great leadership! You can feel the love they have for you by the way they love to listen, and how they are always willing to pray with you. They are great at encouraging you on your walk with the Lord.

I have grown to have a deeper relationship with the Lord through worship, prayer, and leadership. NRCC helped me realize what prayer is really about, it isn’t about making a long, well worded speech, it is about talking to God your savior and your friend.  --Haven
